A little background on who is behind a blog is always appreciated, not only to give more confidence to readers but to help them to better understand the opinions expressed in the blog.
My name is Lluís Juncà and I’m currently 28 years old. I’m a Telecommunication Engineer by the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) and I hold a Master’s degree in Political Science from the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC). I have worked for two consultant/audit firms before starting my current work as a political adviser for a member of the European Parliament.
Politically, I’d like to see Catalonia become a sovereign state and a member of the EU, just as Ireland, Denmark or Spain. Economically, I think the classic separation between left and right is outdated as well as the confrontation between employers and employees. To my mind, we must be able to forge a social and economic model that couples the best of the free market with the best of the welfare state, transcending trade-offs between dynamism and security, efficiency and equality.
Besides Olot (my hometown) and Barcelona (where I’ve spend my last seven years) I’ve also lived ten months in Copenhagen (Denmark) where I worked on my Master Thesis at DTU’s COM-Center. Currently, I spend my time in three cities in three diferent countries: Olot, Brussels and Strasbourg.
I do hope that readers will find Cataloniablog.com interesting and worth a regular visit, and I encourage them to let me know whatever comments and suggestions they come up with (lluis@cataloniablog.com).

Thumbs up from California, I appreciate that you make an effort to reach out to English speakers. I’ve learned Catalan and Spanish so I have no trouble staying updating or finding material about it. For English only speakers, which most of my family and people here are, there is very very little I can show them to explain the issues and and history. This is one site that helps with that.

Thank you Nissu, its nice to see people leaving their opinions! I’ll try to post a new article every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
If you have any idea or suggestion I’d like to know it.
And again, thanks for your participation!
Hey,
Nice blog. How come there’s nothing about the demonstration in Brussels?
Slt,
